Off the news: A welcome study on rural health equality

The University of Hawaii has received a welcome $1.5 million grant from the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust to strengthen rural health care systems across Hawaii and the Pacific islands affiliated with the U.S. The initiative, which will support health-care delivery and policy assessment, is led by UH medical programs dealing with rural health research and other issues.
