Off the news: Federal cuts shutter workforce program

Federal funding cuts, unfortunately, will mean closure of the Hawaii Job Challenge Academy (JCA) in Hilo, after the current class graduates May 22. The Hawaii National Guard’s JCA was a workforce preparation program for graduates of the Hawaii Youth Challenge Academy — a resource to help launch young adults into the real world.
