Off the news: Hawaii island police chief out of a job

Hawaii County Police Chief Benjamin Moszkowicz will retire from his position on Aug. 31, but not completely voluntarily: The county Police Commission tied 4-4 on a vote to let Moszkowicz withdraw a resignation notice, not enough votes to trigger a retraction. “If I could rewind … and undo my actions, I absolutely would,” Moszkowicz said.
