Off the news: Helping nonprofits to help others

There’s not been much good news for the nonprofit sector lately, but it’s encouraging to see that state lawmakers have worked to stave off some bad news for a time. In a difficult budgetary year, legislators set aside $40 million in grants for 170 Hawaii nonprofits to share.
