Insurance companies last week lost again in their legal struggle to take a slice of the $4 billion settlement earmarked for Maui wildfire survivors. The Hawaii Supreme Court swatted down a group of insurers that attempted to intervene in a class-action lawsuit and recover money in cases where victims did not submit a claim to a $135 million chunk of the settlement total.
