Off the news: Lambert back at HPD, role to be decided

As a Honolulu Police Department major, Mike Lambert was the youngest finalist among candidates for HPD chief in 2022, when Arthur “Joe” Logan was chosen for the role. In January 2025, Lambert left HPD to serve as director of the state’s Department of Law Enforcement. But now Logan’s gone, and Lambert, 46, is once again a candidate for the chief’s position.
