Off the news: Maui gains 200 affordable housing units

Maui’s housing situation received a much-needed boost on Thursday with the opening of Kaiaulu o Kuku‘ia in Lahaina. The 200-unit permanent affordable housing complex is billed as the first to open since the 2023 wildfires decimated Lahaina, and will serve 197 families who earn between 30% and 60% of area median income.
