Off the news: TAT funds out of tourism authority’s grasp

The Hawai‘i Tourism Authority lost its Tourism Special Fund in 2022, then its independence in between 2024 and 2025, as it was folded into the state Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism. Its guaranteed stream of cash may return someday, but not this year.
