A driver reportedly hit an electric pole around 3:30am this morning and caused live wires to be exposed across the roadway.
The accident happened on Kamehameha Highway at Joseph P Leong bypass near Police beach.
HECO says about 500 customers are without power. No word on when power will be restored.
