After celebrating her son’s 13th birthday Friday night, Angie Pahia came home to find her house had been burglarized.
"That’s messed up they ruined my birthday, I was kinda scared I didn’t even want to go sleep," says Dalton Pahia, victim’s son.
Pahia believes the thieves came in through the window and left through it.
"They placed everything nicely on the side of the house there and they used our trash can to jump in and get into the house," says Angie Pahia.
Pahia says they stole her brand new coach bag and safe from her closet.
The safe holds her social security cards, car title and some coins.
They left all her electronics behind.
"It’s different it’s not safe," says Marissa Carreiro, burglary victim.
Pahia’s not alone.
Marissa Carreiro’s home just down the street was hit last week.
She says they stole about $10,000 worth of gold between 5 and 7 in the evening.
The thieves entered through a sliding door in the back of her house.
"We’re taking extra precautions now but we can’t even live comfortable, I grew up in this neighborhood and we’ve never dealt with burglaries until now " says Carreiro.
And news has spread through this tight-knit community, hoping to catch the thieves responsible.
"It’s just paranoia yeah you like leave your house but what gonna happen look at that house broad daylight," says Shorty Crawford, Kaneohe resident.
Crawford says he’s seen suspicious vehicles around the neighborhood.
"They say they stake you out at the malls they watch you like Windward City, Windward Mall they look oh sista get plenty gold ah and they follow you home then stake out the area and hit them after," says Crawford.
"They say it’s a couple of individuals, Kaneohe boys, young boys graduated from Castle you know everybody is saying but really nobody has proof," says Carreiro.
The victims have filed police reports.
If you have any information on these burglaries, call police.
