Tour guides re-trace their steps from the day NY teen was swept out to sea

The tour guides who were with Madoff the day he was swept out to sea returned to Kealakekua Bay on Tuesday.

They re-traced the events of the terrifying ordeal, describing how they saved others from being washed out to sea.

"Literally had one kid here, one kid here, another on my shoulder, another in my grasp," Hawaii Pack and Paddle guide Nolan Reed said.

Reed jumped in and rescued a second boy who was knocked into the water along with Madoff. The teen is recovering at the Queen’s Medical Center.
