Traditional horse festival marks the start of summer

MORIOKA, Japan >> About 70 horses gussied up with bells marched amid the tinkling sounds they generated through rural and urban areas in Takizawa and Morioka cities in Iwate prefecture. They were central to a traditional folk festival that signals the start of summer on the second Saturday of June.
