Typhoon Bavi pounds Guam, other Pacific U.S. territories

Typhoon Bavi was lashing Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands with powerful winds and heavy rain Monday (Sunday in Hawaii), downing power lines and prompting warnings of potential flash flooding in the U.S. territories.
