Vegas Advisor: Chinatown getting a makeover

A comprehensive three-phase plan is in the works to spruce up Las Vegas’ Chinatown, the area west of I-15 on Spring Mountain Road. Plans include a pedestrian walkway connecting Chinatown Plaza and Shanghai Plaza, the elimination of one westbound lane on Spring Mountain to create additional walkways, roadway improvements, and several cosmetic and security enhancements. It also appears that as many as two Las Vegas Loop stations — serving the underground Tesla transportation system — will be built. Work in earnest is expected to begin before the end of the year.
