WEATHER FORECAST: Cloudy skies, heavy rain expected for Oahu, Maui County

The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for Molokai in Maui County until 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning.  Radar shows heavy rain over central Molokai and waters west of Lanai.  Rainfall and runoff will cause hazardous driving conditions due to ponding.

The forecast for Sunday calls for mostly cloudy skies with possible heavy rains for Oahu and Maui County.  Kauai and the Big Island can expect partly cloudy skies.  Southwest winds 15 to 20 miles per hour with higher gusts.  Hazy skies are also expected for much of the state.

A high surf advisory is also in effect for north and west facing shores of Kauai, Oahu, and Molokai, as well as north facing shores of Maui until 6:00 p.m. Monday.

A brown water advisory is also posted for Oahu due to heavy rains and storm runoff.  The public is advised to stay out of flood waters which can contain pesticides, fecal matter, and flood debris.
